The Web

A spider spins a web
In the shape of a mansion
A nursery expansion
Is added to the 3rd floor
A swing set
A child proof door
For the floor above staircase carpet

It knits together baby clothes
For a child it will lure close
To fill a need
To feed
To fill the empty hole
To breath
Life into the lights
To make the walls become 3d
To energise the machine
That will one day hold it’s family
The strings will be
So hidden by
The illusions to be planted in that child’s eyes
The cleverly hidden lies
Will keep the boy from walking away
Back to the light from which it came
