A Spider Song Poem

There she comes, timid eyes cast down
Hey, I’m up here, turn around!
Look at my legs! I’m near the lamp!
All eight are long. Aren’t I a champ?
Ever seen graceful air ballet?
I’m a cutie, aren’t I? Oh please, stay

Gee, she’s gone
Would be so much fun
to crawl into her bed
watch her scream and run

Ain’t got no teeth to chew and no gums
But she doesn’t know that, and that’s kind of glum
Though I can bite, and climb, and disguise
And I’ve got eight magnetic eyes
I know you got only two, that’s okay
I’m a goody-goody, aren’t I? Oh please, stay

Gee, she’s gone
Would be so much fun
to crawl into her bed
watch her scream and run

She’s so much better than mosquitoes and flies
Those stupid dummies just twitch and die
So I weave my web here, watch her move around
Hey, see what I’ve made? I’m coming down!
It’s an elevator. Don’t freak out, it’s okay
I’m a smarty, aren’t I? Oh please, stay

Gee, she’s gone
Would be so much fun
to crawl into her bed
watch her scream and run

Wait, she’s coming back
with a gun
Uh-oh…
